Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the ilera mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Clinical Decision Support Tool

  • ilera is a clinical decision support tool — it is designed to assist healthcare professionals, not replace them.
  • Not diagnostic — the Service does not provide medical diagnoses or treatment plans.
  • Professional judgement required — all clinical decisions must be made by qualified healthcare professionals using their own professional judgement.
  • Evidence-linked — information is sourced from clinical literature and guidelines, but should always be verified.
  • Error reduction, not automation — the Service is designed to reduce errors, not automate patient care.

The information provided through ilera is for informational and educational purposes only. It is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of a qualified healthcare provider with any questions regarding a medical condition or treatment.

3. User Eligibility

The Service is intended for use by healthcare professionals, including but not limited to pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and medical students. By using the Service, you represent that you are:

  • At least 18 years of age
  • A healthcare professional or student in a healthcare-related field
  • Using the Service in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations

4. Account Registration

To access certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You may register using Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information during registration
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account

5. Subscription and Payments

ilera offers both free and paid subscription tiers:

  • Free tier: Access to drug reference, search, SMPC/NAFDAC links, and clinical calculators
  • Pro tier: Additional features including AI clinical assistant, drug interactions, therapeutic substitutions, and drug comparison tools

Paid subscriptions are billed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Subscription terms, pricing, and cancellation policies are governed by the respective app store's terms. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Share your account credentials with others
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
  • Use automated systems to access the Service without permission
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
  • Copy, modify, or distribute content from the Service without authorization

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its content, features, and functionality, is owned by ilera and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not use, reproduce, or distribute any content from the Service without our prior written consent.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ilera shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or other intangible losses, resulting from:

  • Your use or inability to use the Service
  • Any errors or omissions in the content provided
  • Unauthorized access to your account or data
  • Any clinical decisions made based on information from the Service

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ilera, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes through the app or by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service at our sole discretion, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
